Our Story
Chip-N-Dough Cookie Company is what one may refer to as a "labor of love" It is the result of both my love for fresh cookie dough and my grandmother's love for quality chocolate (not to mention our love for each other). It was my grandma Niecy who first taught me to bake and appreciate quality sweets. They must be of quality to have won 11 "best cookie" awards. I could always count on her to satiate my sweet tooth, as she was famous for keeping treats stashed within arms reach at all times. "Pockets and drawers make great hiding spots," she used to tell me. Our favorite treat of all has always been freshly baked cookies. Can you blame us? Before I was tall enough to reach the kitchen counter, I would help Niecy mix up batches of cookies. By the time I was seven, I had become her "official assistant". My job? Quality control, and I took my job quite seriously. I never allowed a single batch to be baked without testing the dough. Niecy was a great grandma and a great teacher. As with all great teachers (and students) the day finally came that proved that I had learned the necessary skills to stand on my own two feet. (Even though I enjoy standing next to hers.) Niecy had always kept me tucked under her wing as we made our way around the kitchen, and the day finally came when I was ready to fly. I was all of eleven at the time. I had the kitchen to myself and decided to create my own cookie recipe. Using the skills I had learned from Niecy and my own knack for baking, I whipped up a batch of the best darn chocolate chip cookies ever. One bite of my creation and grandma Niecy broke out in a grin that spread from one ear to the other. I stood up tall, held my chin up high and dusted off my hands as if to say, "aw it was nothing." She had me remake another batch of cookies right there in front of her, as she watched closely and wrote down all the steps. That, my dears is how a legend was born (if I do say so myself). Baking became a beloved hobby for me solely for the sake of seeing peoples faces light up when tasting my goods. By the tender age of twelve I had perfected my chocolate chip cookie recipe and could whip up a batch blindfolded. I had many years to practice baking before I turned twenty. That was the year I met a boy named Michael. As fate would have it, Michael turned out to be the biggest homemade cookie lover this side of the New York City. One batch of old-fashioned chewy goodness and it was not long before we were walking down the aisle together, (the one in the church). A few years and a million batches of cookies later, I decided to "open up shop." Within a month, Chip N Dough Cookie Company was up and running. I could barely keep up with the demand, the response has been overwhelming -- thanks to cookies lovers like you! Some of the cookies we bake come from grandma Niecy's award winning recipes and some are my own creation, but they all come straight from the heart. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoy baking them!
